Lately i had a talk with one of my friends about the furry stuff and mostly furry games which came (and about to come) out on steam, mostly from "community people out of the furry fandom".
Im sure there is a lot work behind such games and story writting and what not but the problem i have, so i told my friend, is actually that the MOST of this games actually feel like people "want" to know that they are hardcore furry fans or they srsly bash it on your face - Its like a WW2 game where you "have to know", all the germans are bad and they have to be killed coz nazis.
Let me explain what i mean a bit more in detail. Its ok if you play a Furry in a game but the most games which came from community people feels like they want you to "obey" the game they created or you have to be a hardcore (already) furry fan to understand whats going on - the other problem is also, and thats one reason where i just think WHY, is that some of the games are "romantic virtual noval games" or like. you know, meet a girl, fall in love with a girl, have a stupit sidestory and get layed - just with furry girls. Is that bad? Well if you think about that the furryfandom for "NORMAL PEOPLE OUT THERE" is pretty (let me use the words) "scary" and "weird" and they already call us "furry fags" and what not, i will not say 100% YES more a "you guys dont help actually that the fandom looks any better" words.
I will not say its forbitten, if you create such games, your thing but you have at least to think about which people you wanna "show it". If you go on it with steam, not everyone is there a furry or like your game. same with ohter games of course.
Wile i was talking with my friend he also asked me "what if i would create a "furry" game, how would it look like". I actually created already here some smaller games but not really games where it is "important" if you play a furry or not and that actually would be the themes of games i would create. You sure are maybe one of my Characters but its not like i would slap it in your face.
To be honest, i run around now with some game ideas i have but i cant build coz i just cant build stuff "like that". Let me explain my ideas and maybe you like them, they might be not for everyone but sure something "new".
Game idea ONE
Game title: "Remember ME"
Game Style: Point´N Click Adventure
Youre a young guy, mid 20s maybe and you sure are handsome...and youre dead. Exactly. In the afterlife you sadly cant remember who you were since you died sadly with amnesia. Not knowing who you are, as ghostly-self, god gives you time again on earth to learn who you were and what you did before you actually died.
As ghost, barely able to "grab things" and "do stuff" (point and click adventures, we love them~), you have to remember yourself and your actual start point is your dead body in the hospital.
About the game:
The game is pretty deep and follows the story from the 3rd persons you "meet" and see. As ghost youre able to follow things and listen to people wile they talk and interact with the world around you. Sadly you cant really "keep hold" of things and like. Sure the ghost you play is somewhat furry themed (maybe a dead cat or fox or like, not sure about) and the world so too like NPCs. The game is also sometimes pretty depressiv (and also dark) wile the player learns more about the story and the "ghost" what actually happens, learning about the identity, his job, his children and love till the reason why he actually died ending up in the afterlife ones again but known who he is and why he died.
The game should get more endings while some stories lead to good and others to bad endings.
Game idea TWO
Game title: "Anum Chaos: After night Story"
Game Style: Somewhat GTA like gameplay with more rpg elements
In the role of my character "James River", you explore the world from Antiola (the old world i created, lols) and their citys in the night time. Wile you "explore" you also enjoy the story around and about James, which also explains a lot about his "bounty hunter status", his kind and why he actually ended up "here". You meet familar faces like Lil Blue, Somber, W.A., Shard and co with which you also can interact and maybe even have "story missions" with. Said that, the story is told from James view and so it sometimes jumps back in the past (like dreams and stuff) where he explains himself.
About the game:
The problem i have with games like "GTA", they are pretty limited. I always wanted to create a GTA-styled game but more open, where you actually dont "move with such limits". what i mean is that wile you play you actually get better what you are doing (a bit like a RPG system) opens up more ways to explore like jumping from house to house, learn how to drive better, how to control your magic and stuff like. James, my character (and his art and style), they would perfectly fit for such game while he is already a bounty hunter, making the game also again more dark and deep ones again. The game is played in the view/kind like GTA (3rd person? is that the right word for? i hope). You begin with your "basics" and you learn more about the "dark nights" in the citys and the job James do. YOu sure also can go crasy and just kill and explode stuff you want (GTA style of course). It sure gives some side missions which gives you maybe money you need or you learn new skills like better climbing or a splitshot for your magicskill tree.
that are at least 2 ideas i have now in my mind i duno how long...AGES....
What do you think about? would they be "to much furry"? Again, i sadly cant build them since i duno "how". i cant model 3rd or create a Point´n click system.
Still it would be nice to hear a feedback from you and if you actually would enjoy such kind of games.
